It extends from 38.5 to 55.5" high, weighs 16.7 pounds, and folds down to 42" for transport. The mount is made of powder-coated aluminum, with worm gears on both axes and a Vixen-style dovetail saddle. The head can be tilted back-to-front to a 45° angle, and can also be set to point straight up for viewing at the zenith.
Large knobs on the vertical and horizontal slow-motion control cables make adjustments easy, even with gloves on. An included wrench for adjusting the mount is easily stored in the fork arm and held in place with a magnet. The tripod is chrome-plated steel, has a 42" footprint, and has individually adjustable legs that are secured via thumbscrews.
For further strength and vibration reduction, a spreader bar locks against the inside of the legs.
