Today's digital imagers require mounts with tracking accuracy up to 60 times better than that needed for visual observing. To achieve this, Losmandy uses the highest quality materials and pays attention to detail, providing a mount that is free from erratic errors introduced by badly manufactured or poorly assembled components. The mount's construction features all machined aluminium and stainless steel, black anodized, with all stainless steel hardware.

It includes one 3.750" diameter needle thrust bearing, one 2.000" diameter needle thrust bearing, and two 1.500" diameter needle bearings. The 5.625" diameter worm gear is made from 7075 aluminium and features 360 teeth. A dual supported, ball bearing housed ground High Precision Brass Worm provides smooth operation.

The mount also features a variable slip clutch, both axes, with one knob per axis design. Additionally, it includes a Porter Slip Ring Design and 1.250" diameter stainless steel shafts. The polar scope mounting is through the axis, and the mount works in Northern Hemisphere locations.
